The Jonesboro School District has served students in Jonesboro for over 100 years! All schools in the district are fully accredited by the Arkansas Department of Education and by AdvancED Accrediting organization. The district offers a broad and deep curriculum that challenges the college-bound with opportunities for all students to reach higher levels of success. Magnet elementary school choice offers students expanded educational opportunities in Math & Science, Health, Wellness & Environmental Studies, MicroSociety, International Studies, and Visual & Performing Arts. Each elementary school is built around specialized themes and offers in-depth experience and study. The Academies at Jonesboro High School has strong partnerships with business and community stakeholders to ensure high achievement in all subjects. Students are allocated in one of three academies: Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM); Health, Human Services and Law; or Business and Communication Arts. Through this expanded curriculum, students graduate prepared to be successful in today's global community.
The Nettleton Public School District is proud to be home to the Milken National Educator Award winner, the Presidential Award of Excellence in Teaching Mathematics & Science winner, National Outstanding Agri Teacher, and several Teachers and Coaches of the Year Award winners. Nettleton’s educational programs include a gifted program grades K-6; honors classes for grades 7-12; handicapped and resource facilities; and, advanced placement classes for high school students (up to 31 hours of college credit). Students and administration at Nettleton earn honors at local, state & national levels with awards such as the "American FFA Degree," and the "2016 National Beta School of Merit."
Valley View Public Schools provide an excellent learning environment for students. In 2015, Valley View Jr. High was recognized as a National Blue ribbon School, exemplifying the school's policy of excellence. Valley View has 33 National Board Certified teachers and was recognized in 2013 and 2014 by the Arkansas Department of Education as a top ten percent school system. The high school offers 12 AP Courses and eight concurrent courses offered via ASU Jonesboro.
Two additional school districts serve those who live in the outlying areas of Jonesboro – Brookland Public Schools and Westside Public Schools.
